Danielle McIlwain has been involved with dance for as long as she can remember.  Before she was old enough to dance herself, she would sit for hours watching the classes that her mom was teaching, and began her first year of Ballet at age 3.  Danielle then started Tap at age 5 and Jazz at 7.  Throughout the years, Danielle has been recognized for many awards and scholarships.  Her first, and possibly most memorable scholarship, came at age 10 for her Jazz solo "In the Navy".  She has won many "Most Promising" awards, as well as many "Top Mark" and "Special Recognition" awards.  Danielle's passion for dance exceeds taking class in town, as she has been to many workshops and summer schools over the years.  Danielle believes that this type of experience is the best way to achieve the high goals that she had set for herself and gain the experience that will enable her to dance to the best of her ability.

Danielle has successfully completed all of the RAD Graded Ballet Examinations as well as the Intermediate Major Examination.  She has completed her ADAPT Jazz Syllabus through to the Advanced Levels and completed her Tap Syllabus through to the Intermediate Level.

Once she graduated form High School, Danielle auditioned for Carnival Cruise Lines, and performed her first show with the company in July 2004.  After completing 3 contracts, and 8 different shows with Carnival, Danielle is back teaching at Joy's School of Dance and hopes to share some of her experience with the girls she teaches in years to come.

Danielle wishes all the girls at the studio a wonderful year and hopes they gain memories which will be remembered and cherished for years to come!
